Few days ago, a news spread over the web mentioning the hacking of the PS3 to play pirated games without using the Original game CD/DVD. Now the guide to do that is out to the public. You could now create backups of the original discs and those play pirated games on PS3 without using the original disc. Here is how to hack the device to play pirated games on PS3.
All the credits goes to the Spanish website.REQUIREMENTS:. Firmware 3.41 installed on the console (at least for the sample to be sent).
Download Backup Manager for your website and copy any external USB storage device formatted with FAT32. Optional: (format tool for fast storage devices in FAT32 format.)OPERATION:1.- cersiorarse is essential that there is no disc in the drive console and we always start from the console is off before connecting the USB PS Jailbreak. Depending on the console version you must:. PlayStation 3 FAT. Just turn off the console from the rear switch. PlayStation 3 SLIM.
It is essential to disconnect the power cord from the back of the console.Connect to any USB port on the console, PS Jailbreak, taking care not to have anything else connected by USB.2.- Press the POWER button on the console and then pressed the EJECT button. We’ll see how the two LEDs on the PS Jailbreak ignite while charging the console (10 seconds), then several things can happen:.- That the Green LED is lit. This means that the PS Jailbreak is working properly.- That red LED is lit.
This means that the PS has not loaded correctly Jailbreak. Usually this happens when not properly pressed Power sequence and then Eject. If the end result is the bright red LED, we repeat the process from the beginning with the precaution of disconnecting the power cord from the back of the PlayStation 3 Slim or cut the current from the switch at the back of the PlayStation 3 Fat. 3.- Once PS Jailbreak the device is loaded correctly, connect the USB external storage device with the Backup Manager to the console.4.- We went to the GAME menu and we move to the option “Install Package Files”, to then select Backup Manager.5.- Once finished, if we move at the end of the Games menu will appear Backup Application Manager.

The following notice was issued via the PlayStation.Blog:Unauthorized circumvention devices for the PlayStation 3 system have been recently released by hackers. These devices permit the use of unauthorized or pirated software.
Hack Ps3 To Play Downloaded Games
Use of such devices or software violates the terms of the “System Software License Agreement for the PlayStation 3 System” and the “Terms of Services and User Agreement” for the PlayStation Network/Qriocity and its Community Code of Conduct provisions. Violation of the System Software Licence Agreement for the PlayStation 3 System invalidates the consumer guarantee for that system.
In addition, copying or playing pirated software is a violation of International Copyright Laws. Consumers using circumvention devices or running unauthorized or pirated software will have access to the PlayStation Network and access to Qriocity services through PlayStation 3 system terminated permanently. To avoid this, consumers must immediately cease use and remove all circumvention devices and delete all unauthorized or pirated software from their PlayStation 3 systems. The notice has been issued following the fight Sony has been having to stop the hacking and others have done to open up the PlayStation 3 console. With lawsuits ongoing, Sony clearly wanted to make sure everyone knows what will happen if they get caught playing illegal games or circumventing the PS3’s firmware and protection mechanisms.Anyone choosing to do this is also taking a risk.
Having PSN access disabled will cut off access to digital downloads initially, but could have further implications in the future depending on what Sony decides to do. If for games then a PSN connection may be required and therefore anyone without access can’t play the latest titles. The only option would be to purchase a new PS3 and create a new PSN account we believe.Although Sony is stating what most gamers probably already knew, it seems unusual they would continue to remind people that it is possible to hack the PS3 and play pirate games. Why not stay quiet on the matter and take action when it is identified on a case by case basis?
Sony's PS3 has been so far immune to being hacked to allow copied games to work, but a new device promises to do just this, without the need to solder, install, flash anything. The new device, simply an USB drive that's now for sale for $170, promises to 'jailbreak' the PS3 and allow games to be dumped to a FAT32 HDD, and then played back later. 150 PS3 games have already been tested to work with the system. However, Sony is apparently already aware of the problem and upcoming firmware updates are expected to block the device. Sony recently introduced smaller, automatic updates, which may or may not be related to efforts to combat the PS Jailbreak device.More. Ttytt, sometimes all this effort for the proposed results is more of a chore than anything else. I guess it's true that the rush in getting these hacks to work is what it's all about.
I can identify to a degree on that.So one gets that $170.00 USB drive and Sony comes out w/a fix. What do you do call/email Joe Black and request a refund! Or buy the next hack for less since you already dumped $170.00, and Joe Black kindly offers a discount?
I don't think so!I have some Jeans that are worth more than $170.00. I'm looking at a 10 year plan w/them at the least. Even if I gain/lose weight they'll still be fine. Another way is to just not update from 3.41, and keep the machine offline.
If the PS3 was cheap enough, than those that really don't want to pay for games (and don't need to play online) can keep a second PS3 specifically for playing copied games, while their primary one plays legal ones (and goes online). Some people do that already with the Xbox 360.The latest theory is that this USB device actually unlocks a developer mode for the console, which is why it's allowing games to be dumped and played from the HDD. If this is the case, then Sony needs to find a way to stop this, but still allow developers to keep this functionality for testing purposes.

I never would of thought about getting a second PS3. The money of course is a factor, though the darn thing still does more than any other media hub, so that also makes me want to keep it and not need another.I still am not the owner of any Games, though here soon will be. Prices have come down a bit I see. They are relatively expensive. Should they be that much, or are the developers/anyone involved really padding the prices more than they have to? My nephew, cousin and his friends like the Xbox 360 because of the less complicated usage of the controllers. They admit though the graphics on the PS3 are the bomb.
I had fun the other day w/a MMA Game. Got my brains beat in though it is fun. What I'm curious about. If that thing is just a USB stick, theoretically you could copy the partition using something like Parted Magic and then paste it to another generic flash drive? And it should act the same way?Would be interesting if that works, we could start pirating piracy toolsIt is not a USB memory stick, it is a usb powered device that is programmable. Meaning you program it with your computer with a certain program. You would also have to build the board.

The PS3 Groove is an opensource version of the PS3 Jailbreak but it has the features locked out for piracy. Since it is an opensource project and no sales are being made, Sony can't really shut it down at this point. But, if you know where to look, the Jailbreak is the Groove with the features unlocked.so.
Hi Guys,I am from India and I get my games from various stores at a price which is inline wiith their prices internationally. But a few days back I met a guy who told me that he can get any PS3 game like LBP, R2, Dead Space, etc for 900 rupees that amounts to less than 20$. Now I asked him if they are used ones? But he told me that they are brand new and original. My question to all of you is that whether you have come across such low prices or pirated PS3 games, because I am guessing that he is selling pirated games. So what do u all say?
Anyway, we must bear in mind that once installed (Connected) in the PS console is no longer possible Jailbreak delete (Withdrawn). I’m reading the comments made and I think this sentence is being interpreted wrongly or I have not been able to explain properly. We must differentiate between the PS Jailbreak (USB device) and the Backup Manager (application used to manage / create the backups). My intention with this statement was to indicate that you can not remove the PS Jailbreak once installed on the console, as this is left hanging or restarts.
In no time I referred to the Backup Manager. Having regard to stir up, to clarify that the Backup Manager can be removed without problems (but do not know if you leave any trace in the console).
